Job Description

Itzy Ritzy is a leading juvenile and lifestyle brand specializing in innovative, high-quality baby products. Our mission is to create safe, stylish, and functional solutions that support parents and babies through everyday routines. We are seeking a collaborative Product Designer to join our team and support the development of thoughtful, trend-relevant products across our juvenile portfolio.

Position Overview

We are seeking a creative, curious, and consumer-focused Product Designer to support the design and development of infant soft and hard goods from initial research and concept development through production. This entry-level individual contributor will work within established brand and design direction, learning to translate consumer insights, market trends, and functional needs into thoughtful products that balance style, usability, safety, and commercial relevance.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in product design, a good design sensibility, and an eagerness to develop hands-on technical and product development skills. Working closely with and under the guidance of senior design team members, this role contributes across multiple stages of the product development process and collaborates with Design, Product Development, Sales, Graphics, Packaging, external resources, and manufacturing partners. This position reports to the Product Design Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the design and development of infant soft and hard goods from consumer research and concept development through sampling and production
  • Support the translation of consumer insights, market trends, and established brand direction into relevant product concepts, materials, colors, prints, features, and details
  • Create and assist with sketches, presentation renderings, technical drawings, specifications, and tech packs for both soft and hard goods under guidance from senior design team members
  • Support design intent through prototype development, factory sampling, revisions, approvals, and production with direction from senior design team members
  • Create photorealistic AI renderings, presentation visuals, and concept materials to clearly communicate product ideas and established design direction
  • Assist with seasonal trend and style guides, including color, material, print, pattern, and collection direction, and help maintain current trend boards and reference materials
  • Conduct competitive, category, and consumer research to help identify emerging needs, market opportunities, and areas for product innovation
  • Assist in creating, modifying, and evaluating physical prototypes and soft-goods samples to support product development and design refinement
  • Participate in focus groups, parent and baby product testing, and other consumer research activities; capture observations and feedback to help inform product design and refinement
  • Assist in communicating approved design direction, specifications, and technical requirements with overseas manufacturing partners under the guidance of senior team members
  • Collaborate with Design, Product Development, Sales, Graphics, and Packaging teams to support cohesive product execution across the line
  • Provide timely project updates and communicate relevant design and development information to cross-functional teams and supervisors
  • Coordinate samples across internal teams, remote team members, and external resources, and support the maintenance of planogram and product displays
  • Support line reviews, presentations, packaging assets, mockups, and other key product development milestones
  • Work with external resources as needed

Product Focus

Design responsibilities will primarily support juvenile functional soft and hard goods categories including Travel, Feeding, Nursing, Bath Toys & Care, Pacifiers & Accessories, and Teething. The designer will assist with both the creative and technical development of these categories, helping ensure products align with brand direction, consumer needs, quality expectations, and commercial objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Soft Goods Design, or related field
  • 0–5 years of professional design experience, preferably within infant, juvenile, consumer products, soft goods, hard goods, or related product categories
  • Strong foundational design sensibility with an ability to interpret consumer needs, trends, and established creative direction
  • Working proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Foundational technical drawing, specification, and tech pack development skills, with an eagerness to continue developing these capabilities
  • Working knowledge of AI visualization and design tools
  • Exposure to product development, factory sampling, or overseas manufacturing is a plus
  • Basic understanding of materials, construction, color, print, manufacturing processes, and product development, with a willingness to learn
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to support multiple projects and development timelines while working within established priorities and guidance from senior design leadership
  • Strong sketching, visualization, prototyping, and presentation skills
  • Experience in consumer research, product testing, surface/print design, CAD modeling, 3D printing, PLM systems, and juvenile product safety requirements is a plus
  • Experience across both soft and hard goods is preferred; sewing and hands-on soft-goods prototyping skills are a plus
  • Comfort working collaboratively with internal teams and external resources

The ideal candidate is receptive to feedback, eager to build technical and product development skills, and excited to grow within a collaborative juvenile product design team.
